You chat with free built-in CX AI or your own OpenAI, Claude, Gemini or OpenRouter key, and CX can browse, search the web, run tools, watch pages for you and work offline with on-device models.
Yes. CX Agent is free to download and use. The built-in CX AI (Auto, Smart and Fast) is free with fair-use limits that refill automatically, and offline models cost nothing. If you add your own OpenAI, Claude or Gemini key, that provider bills you directly. The free app shows small in-app house ads.
Open cxagent.pages.dev/download on your Android phone and tap Download to get the official APK (version 2.3.37, about 54 MB, Android 8.0 or newer). Open the file, allow “Install unknown apps” for your browser or file manager when Android asks, then tap Install. CX Agent is distributed as a direct APK, so download it only from the official site.
Official builds come only from cxagent.pages.dev and use the package name com.cx.agent. Android permissions such as location, microphone or notifications are requested only when you use a feature that needs them, and tools ask for your approval before changing things unless you allow otherwise. Your own API keys stay on your device, and cloud backup is opt-in.
CX Agent includes free CX AI with Auto, Smart and Fast modes that pick a model for you and switch to a backup model if one is busy. You can also add your own key for OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, OpenRouter, Groq or any OpenAI-compatible API, or download offline models (CX Lite, Balanced, Smart) that run on your phone.

Yes. Download an offline model once in Settings → Providers → Offline models (CX Lite needs about 350 MB), then chat with no internet connection. Offline chats never leave your phone. Free CX AI, web search, integrations and other online tools still need a connection, so CX tells you when a task needs the internet.
The ChatGPT app is built around OpenAI’s own models. CX Agent is a multi-model agent: use free CX AI, your own OpenAI, Claude, Gemini or OpenRouter key, or offline models. On Android it also has a built-in AI browser, a Linux workspace, monitors, scheduled tasks, a Telegram bot and phone tools that ask before acting.
A free CX account (Google or email) unlocks CX AI (Auto, Smart, Fast) with no API key. The same account and the same daily CX AI quota work in the Android app and on the web, and your saved chats and memories can sync between them.
CX AI needs no key: it runs on CX servers with your signed-in account. If you add your own provider (Settings → Providers → Add), its key stays in your browser or on your phone and requests go straight to that provider. CX servers never see your own keys, and never see those chats unless you choose “Save to cloud”.
Yes, when you sign in with the same account. Chats you save to the cloud and your saved memories (“What CX remembers”) sync both ways. Chats you do not save to the cloud stay on the device where you had them.
Phone tools, the Linux workspace and terminal, on-device models, the built-in browser, notifications and notification triggers need access to your device, which a website cannot have. The web app focuses on chat, assistants, memory and sync.
Free CX AI has fair-use limits that refill automatically. While you wait, you can keep going with your own provider key or an offline model, and a task that is already running is allowed to finish.
Yes, on Android. Turn on the Telegram bot to chat with CX from Telegram, or the local web server to open CX chat in a browser on your own Wi-Fi network. Both show a notification with a Stop button while they are on.
Long-press the reply, tap Report, pick a category, add a note if you like and tap Submit. Reports go straight to the CX team for review. See the AI & Reporting Policy at cxagent.pages.dev/ai-policy.
On the web, use Settings → Data to delete local chats, Memory → Clear all to erase memories, and remove any cloud chat from its menu. To delete your whole account, use Settings → Account → Delete account in the app, or see cxagent.pages.dev/delete-account.
